Our Sandia earrings feature Heishi stones set within large Harp Shaped hoop. Heishi have a long history in the American Southwest, having been used for adornment well before the advent of metal jewelry. Originally heishi described only beads hand crafted from shells. Today, heishi are crafted from a variety of different materials, including our favorites shown in this design. The large hoop setting animates the stones hanging within and in doing so highlights their unique and natural properties.
